PROMOTE CUBAN DANCE AND CULTURE THROUGH  DANCE PERFORMANCE , HEALING WORKSHOPS, TRAVELES TO CUBA, AND MORE. 

Liethis Hechavarria, an exceptional Dancer, Instructor, and Choreographer Born and raised in Santiago de Cuba till the age of 13, Then moved with her family to the City of New York City. Hechavarria began her dance training at the age of four. She is now the first dancer and assistant to the director and administration for more than 13 years of the best and only Afro-Cuban establish a company in NYC  Oyu Oro Afro-Cuban Experimental  Dance  Ensemble.

Ms. Hechavarria is an afro Latina entrepreneur young woman who gives back to her community and the beautiful world she lives in through the power of dance and healing. Coming from a professional artistic family inside of the performing art into the dance, where she trained in various styles but she specialized in Afro-Cuba and all dance of the diaspora. 

​

She attended La Guardia high school where she deep her dance practice in motion, and attend College for an Associate in Liberal Arts at LaGuardia Community college. She also trained at Alvin Ailey Extension studio; where she is now a former teacher and part of the staff family of Aeily. Liethis Decide to continue her career and get a BA in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and a minor in Dance.

Ms.Hechavarria is now the first dancer and assistant to the director and administration for more than 13 years of the best and only Afro-Cuban establish a company in NYC  Oyu Oro Afro-Cuban experimental dance ensemble. Teaching and dancing in big venues and stages locally, nationally, and internationally, places like:

Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Williams College in Massachusetts, Tulane University in New Orleans, Brown University in Rhode Island, The Salsa Congress in New York,  El Festival del Caribe, Dance Africa, Chase Latino Cultural Festival, Heritage Sunday at the Lincoln Center Out Doors. The 60th anniversary of Ballet Folklorico Cutumba La Mama Annex Stage, Music Festival, Los Angeles Center Outdoor Dance Festival, Minnesota’s International Children’s Festival, Houston International Dance Festival, and many more.

Ms. Hechavarria is an afro Latina entrepreneur young woman who gives back to her community and the beautiful world she lives in through the power of dance and healing. She is a feminist that advocates for women's wellbeing through dance and more. She looks forward to the exciting future and to more growth in the arts and life!
